Ownership and funding
The Polyurea Podcast is produced and funded by ArmorThane USA Inc., a coatings manufacturer in Springfield, Missouri. There is no separate advertising revenue and no paid placements. Nobody pays us to appear.
How we handle the conflict of interest
The obvious problem with a manufacturer publishing a trade show is that the manufacturer has an opinion about which products are good. We deal with that three ways:
- ArmorThane products are named as ArmorThane products whenever they come up. We do not present them as a neutral survey result.
- Technical content is written so it is useful regardless of whose material you buy. Mix ratio discipline, substrate prep, and moisture testing do not care about the label on the drum.
- Competitor products are discussed on their chemistry and published data, not on insinuation. If we cannot cite a competitor’s own published figure, we do not characterize their performance.
Sourcing technical claims
Any performance figure — tensile, elongation, hardness, adhesion, permeability, chemical resistance — is tied to a published technical data sheet and the test method it came from. Numbers from different test methods are not compared as if they were the same measurement, because they are not.
Where a figure is a field observation rather than a lab result, we say so.
Guests
Guests are not paid and do not review the edit for content. We cut for length and clarity. If a guest says something we disagree with, it stays in and we argue with it on the record.
What we do not do
- No fabricated testimonials, reviews, or listener quotes.
- No invented hosts, guests, or credentials.
- No AI-generated text published as a named human’s firsthand experience.
- No paid links, link exchanges, or guest posts placed to pass authority.
- No episode counts, download numbers, or audience figures we cannot substantiate.
