Accessibility

We want this site usable by people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or a bad phone connection in a jobsite trailer.

What we aim for

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In practice that means:

  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background
  • Every image that carries information has alt text describing what it shows, not just a filename
  • Headings used in real hierarchical order so screen reader users can navigate by structure
  • All functionality reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
  • Link text that means something out of context — not “click here”
  • Transcripts for every published episode, which is an accessibility feature before it is an SEO one

Where we currently fall short

We would rather say this than claim full compliance. As of August 2026 this site is newly rebuilt and has not yet had a full third-party audit. Known gaps: no episode transcripts exist yet because no episodes are published yet, and some third-party embedded players we may use later have their own accessibility limits we do not control.
