What this show is
The Polyurea Podcast is a working conversation about protective coatings — the chemistry, the equipment, the jobsite decisions, and the business of running a spray operation. It is aimed at applicators, contractors, specifiers, and the people who have to live with a coating long after the crew has packed up.
Coatings is a trade where a lot of the useful knowledge never gets written down. It lives with the guy who has sprayed four thousand truck beds and knows what a bad mix ratio sounds like through the gun. Part of what this show is trying to do is get some of that on the record.
Current status: pre-launch
We are in production. No episodes have been published yet. Rather than fill this site with placeholder episodes that do not exist, we are publishing written technical articles first, and episodes will be posted here as they are finished. If you want to know when the first one drops, the signup form is the only list we keep and we do not sell it.
Host
Troy Bacon hosts. He leads business development and marketing at ArmorThane USA Inc., a polyurea and polyurethane coatings manufacturer in Springfield, Missouri, and works day to day with dealers, applicators, and specifiers across industrial, agricultural, infrastructure, and defense work. He is not a chemist, which is why most episodes will have one on.
Who publishes it
The Polyurea Podcast is produced and funded by ArmorThane USA Inc. That relationship affects who we can get on the mic. It does not buy a favorable answer to a technical question. Where an episode or article discusses an ArmorThane product, it is named as an ArmorThane product, not presented as a neutral recommendation. Our editorial policy spells out how we handle claims, sponsorship, and corrections.
What we will and will not publish
- Performance numbers are sourced to a published technical data sheet or a named test method (ASTM D412, D2240, D4541, and so on). If we cannot source a number, we do not print it.
- Guests speak for themselves. We do not edit a guest’s technical position to suit a sponsor, including our own.
- We do not publish testimonials we did not collect, and we do not invent people.
- Corrections are posted on the article or episode itself, dated, rather than quietly edited out.
